BGL was inspired by a local golf league in existence for over 30 years spanning 4 generations of players. Couple that long-standing, tried and true format with a dissatisfaction from the games currently provided in the marketplace. As hard as we looked, we couldn’t find a game format that came close, so we created it for everyone’s enjoyment.

The problem with other formats is they tend to be complicated with points awarded for events that have little to do with a professional golfer winning or placing high in a tournament.  Three consecutive birdies, for example, or how much money a golfer earns has little to do with actual great performance in either a tournament spanning four rounds or an entire season. Those point bonuses seem more like fantasy football and not fantasy golf if one were to focus solely on golf as a stand-alone sport. Historically, golfers measure victories or Top 5, 10 or 20 performances.

We love watching golf, playing golf and talking about golf and we know how much better it is from Thursday to Sunday when we have something on the line, even if it is just bragging rights.
